Science & Humanities: the epistemological divide

Get ready to get a bit more philosophical with our next discussion! There, we will explore how different academic disciplines have developed such different, and at times even conflicting, understandings of reality. Together with our speakers from the Institute of Interdisciplinary Studies (Uva) and the Department of Philosophy (VU), we will tackle broad matters in the epistemology of science and humanities, such as scientism and subjectivity, as well as the mental frameworks that foster and limit “sense-making” in academic and everyday settings.

We hope you will be intrigued by the nature of knowledge and (perhaps) possible new ways of seeing. You can already start submitting your questions through this link, or you can simply drop by. Either way, we look forward to having you there!
