In today's society, AI is introducing significant transformations in most areas. However, most of us are still unaware of the potential application of AI in enhancing our understanding of human perception and cognition.
In the upcoming BetaBreak edition, “Your Brain On AI”, we will discuss how AI generates images from analyzing fMRIs (brain scans). These technologies could improve our understanding of human perception by allowing the visualization of neural activity patterns.
Two special guests will join us during the discussion: Dr.Iris Groen (interdisciplinary researcher at the interface of computer vision and cognitive neuroscience) and Dr.Steven Scholte (Head of the Spinoza REC MRI Center, researcher on visual perception and developer mechanistical models of cognition to understand behavior).
During the talk, we will discuss how an AI model is trained to interpret brain scans, the ethical considerations this technology could raise and contemplate the potential future benefits it could bring, particularly in aiding communication for individuals. What implications might arise from such advancements?
Join us in this enlightening session to unravel the convergence of AI and cognitive neuroscience.
