Robbert Dijkgraaf is capable to reduce the most abstract physical theories to its essence and explains them with a simplicity that makes the topic appeal to everyone. This has made him a public scientific icon and is commonly seen and quoted in Dutch media. We are pleased to announce that we may welcome professor Dijkgraaf at the UvA on Tuesday November 28th, where he has done research on the somewhat mysterious string theory. The theory that could provide answers to the biggest questions in the field of physics, but is so intangible that it could never be tested in reality. But what exactly does this theory encompass? And can we still consider it a scientific theory if it can never be tested? Find out on Tuesday 28th of November at 12:30 in the central hall of Science Park!
